National Energy Services

In order that everyone can value and place trust in their energy certificates and the essential advice they contain, it is UK law that all energy assessors and home inspectors are members of a Government-approved accreditation scheme.

Andrew R Williams Ltd are proud to be accredited by National Energy Services for the Domestic Energy Assessor Accreditation Scheme, Commercial Energy Assessor Accreditation and SAVA Home Inspector Certification Scheme.

Domestic Energy Assessor Accreditation Scheme

A Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) produces Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for homes being marketed for sale or rent.

All Domestic Energy Assessors must be accredited before issuing domestic energy performance certificates. To become accredited, DEAs must demonstrate evidence of their qualification and competence to meet the National Occupational Standards. They must have a valid Criminal Records Bureau check and must pass other stringent background checks to ensure their suitability for this important role.

Once accredited, DEAs are regularly audited, properly insured and their work will be subject to a robust consumer redress scheme.

Commercial Energy Assessor Accreditation

A Commercial Energy Assessor (CEA) produces Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for commercial and industrial buildings. These 'non domestic' buildings include offices, shops, warehouses and other business premises that use energy.

All CEAs must be accredited before issuing commercial energy performance certificates. To become accredited, CEAs must demonstrate evidence of their qualification and competence to meet the National Occupational Standards.

Once accredited, CEAs are regularly audited, properly insured and their work will be subject to a robust consumer redress scheme.

As well as our energy assessor accreditation scheme, we operate the SAVA Certification Scheme, a Government-approved scheme for ensuring the quality of the reports produced by Home Inspectors.

SAVA Home Inspector Certification Scheme

Home Inspectors are trained to produce:

  • Home Condition Reports (HCR) – for home sellers who want a report of this type within their Home Information Pack to give to potential buyers
  • Home Condition Surveys (HCS) – for home buyers who want an independent survey of a property before they buy, to help protect their investment

The SAVA certification scheme builds upon SAVA's reputation as a champion of residential property surveying standards. Our checks and quality assurance procedures are thorough and guarantee consumer confidence in Home Condition Reports and other surveys.
